Levity + Renewal: The Pisces New Moon + the week of 2/23 - 3/3/22

Galactic Greetings,

We enter a new month with a New Moon! February offered some much-needed integration. The aspects were minimal, but with significance. Major decisions were finalized alongside an illuminating Full Moon in Leo, vivacious with self-affirming realizations.  You really “got this!” That Mars-Venus conjunction in Capricorn was so powerful, wasn’t it? I hope it ignited a potent desire for you too. Our two celestial love planets continue to chase each other into the beginning of March, doubling up next to Neptune and Pluto as they tip-toe toward their final conjunction in Aquarius on 3/5/22.

Let’s get into it.

You might recall the steamy, desirous fires ignited on 2/16 with the union of our cosmic lovers, Mars and Venus. Something about the future became very attractive to us as we rooted down into our foundational core values. The union ushered in a firework of inspiration to devote our creative forces toward a legacy of which we can one day beam with pride.

Where energy goes, energy flows.

Mars and Venus tell a tale of desire. What do you want? Merging in the sign of Capricorn attunes our desires to the timeless pleasures, a sense of security, and the unshakable pillars of what’s always been attractive to us. We are called to cultivate something endlessly beautiful.

Now that we’re clear on what’s attractive to us again – Mars and Venus enter into a sextile relationship with Neptune – offering inspiration, an openness, dreamy enchantment. Suddenly the landscape of possibility becomes even more vast. It’s time to fall in love with what you are creating.

Piercing Clarity

As Mercury in Aquarius fixates on the infrastructure revisions in our life, a sense of urgency suddenly overwhelms. BUT don’t reach for the red button just yet.

Impatient or jittery, Mercury’s square to Uranus can feel like we accidentally ordered an extra shot of espresso. Sure, this celestial combo offers an activation slightly beyond our comfort, but it energizes us to break the holding pattern.

Quicksilver insights illuminate the conveniently darkened areas beyond the blinders. Notice what is emerging into view, or unexpectedly rolling off the tongue.

Mercury’s square to Uranus certainly shakes things up, but don’t let nerves coerce hastiness. Wait for Mercury’s conjunction with Saturn on 3/2 for the full picture clarity to focus.

The Ecstasy of Connection

With heart-swelling compassion for all beings, the Pisces New Moon invites forgiveness – perhaps inspired by the perspective that we are ultimately all unique threads interwoven in the One grand tapestry of existence. Pisces understands that we are all connected. Releasing outworn grudges is a form of self-love, creating more space for creativity and connection.

The New Moon in Pisces conjoins Jupiter in Pisces, enhancing a burgeoning collective desire to align with a life full of meaningful connection, of soulful purpose, of inner bliss.

A New Moon insinuates the closure of an old cycle so that we may open to the possibilities sown by these new seeds of intent. Forgive so that you may let go. A sextile to Uranus in Taurus invites us to take a chance on love. We are all craving soulful connection. There is no better time than no to go for it!

Certainly boundaries are important, and not everyone is entitled to your forgiveness, but this Pisces New Moon is here to remind us how it’s not about what the other person gets from us, but how we feel on the inside. Combined with the Mars-Venus-Pluto conjunction, the New Moon in Pisces invites us to let go of an old burden to make room for levity – and to remind us that the universe is wise – and has a sense of humor.

*The levity and joy inherent in this new moon may be slightly counterbalanced by the intensity of Mars and Venus conjunct Pluto. Mutables will feel the moon, while cardinal might feel a little heavier.

Mercury conjunct Saturn, 3/2

We can always count on Aquarius’ signature confidence in certainty.

At last, the clarity we’ve been cultivating is finally here. Recall that Mercury stationed retrograde barely a few degrees shy from achieving this conjunction with Saturn (1/14). We weren’t ready to commit to the plan yet. We couldn’t be certain yet. Now that we’ve had several more weeks to parse through the discovery, important reveals emerged, painting a more vivid portrait of perception and desire amongst the Capricorn and Aquarius sectors of our charts.

Now, it’s decision time. We’ve had a moment to integrate, meditate and contemplate.

Mercury’s conjunction to Saturn offers the highest gifts of the air triplicity: focus, discernment, insightfulness, intellect and clarity. Inventiveness combines with pragmatism; mischief combines with realism to innovate the systems in our lives.

Uranus may have lit the fire last week.

Make a decision and make it the right decision.

Mars + Venus conjoin Pluto, 3/3/22, 27°50’ Capricorn

Returning to the depths of the underworld where Venus’ late retrograde began, we once again unearth themes of intimacy, trust and closeness – as well as the antitheses of betrayal and heartbreak.

I’ll tell you a little story. My relationship with my partner coalesced during a turbulent time in both of our lives. Fortunately for our strong foundation as friends, we were able to strongarm the treacherous terrain together. However, that euphoric romantic phase never had the chance to intoxicate us. Healing from my trauma has been a long journey. Nerves shot, I became ultra-sensitive to everything. Together we dodged the triggers. My incredibly supportive and patient partner learned how to hold space for the now-damaged flower he fell in love with. Very recently (9 years later) I’ve finally arrived at a brand-new threshold where I can speak openly and even crack jokes about what I went through. Only now can I look him in the eye and say thank you for enduring that chapter with me, instead of shamefully ignoring it in a hurry to move forward. It’s part of our story. And you know what? Complexity is kinda sexy! Pluto knows all about that.

As cheesy as it may sound, Love Conquers All. But so does time. Venus and Mars’ triple union with Pluto may emphasize your own victories in love, or fearlessly choosing to pursue your desires. Maybe it casts a spotlight on the remedial journey ahead. Pluto offers gifts of healing through the acknowledgement of pain; Pluto transmutes emotional burden into empowerment. Remember that Plutonian alchemy takes time. Let this conjunction with Pluto affirm your commitment to finding a quality lover, to affirming your deservingness of the love you crave, to facing the challenges head-on – or to reveling in a lifelong passion which infinitely ignites your heart.
