Eclipse Triggers + the Mars-Venus conjunction in Cap!

Galactic Greetings,

Following last week’s calm celestial skies, we’ve got another big one! This week features a double activation of the 11/19/21 lunar eclipse degree of 27°40’ Taurus – energized both by the Leo Full Moon (27°59’) and the transiting lunar nodes (27° Taurus/Scorpio).

Eclipses serve as catalysts for major changes in our lives and in the world. Think back to what was going on in November. If you can connect any loose ends traveling back to the holiday season, this week could bring important developments in that personal story. If you can’t think of anything, you’re probably in the clear! Not every eclipse is going to activate important points in your chart.

On the world stage, this period most obviously corresponds with the emergence of Omicron and the heating up of the January 6th investigations. As such, we could expect important developments around these big stories during the week leading up to the full moon.

The eclipses have just started to activate a new polarity in our charts (Taurus and Scorpio) and we will be working with this polarity through June 2023. If you’d like a closer look at what this eclipse cycle could offer you, book your next reading with me! I’d love to connect with you on your chart.

Astrology Watch:

Mercury enters Aquarius (again), 2/14

Leo Full Moon, 2/16

Mars conjoins Venus, 2/16

Jupiter sextile Uranus, 2/17

Sun enters Pisces, 2/18

Mercury enters Aquarius (again) 2/14

Mercury originally entered Aquarius on 1/2/22 only to retrograde back into Capricorn for a few more weeks. If you have some lingering question marks to answer, Mercury in Aquarius is here to assist!

Mercury in Aquarius happens to be one of my most favorite transits for brainstorming, creative innovation and problem-solving. Mercury in Aquarius lends its brilliant technical edge to the drawing board, presenting an ideal terrain to bounce your ideas off of friends, to collaborate and combine minds. When I think of Mercury in Aquarius, the fixed air sign, I imagine a think-tank. While Mercury is in Aquarius, a steadfast determination to solve the equation plants us before the drawing board until we feel certain our answer will suffice.

We can look forward to Mercury’s conjunction with Saturn on 3/2 – an alignment previously refrained due to Mercury’s retrograde. Saturn will provide quiet confidence in answering those booming questions looming since the end of December.

Leo Full Moon 2/16, 27°59’ Leo, 11:56 am ET

Amidst level-headed Aquarius season, the Full Moon ripens in the sign of Leo tending the flame of eccentricity and swagger. While the two signs occupy opposite sides of the same pole, one thing they can agree upon is self-confidence and knowing who the fuck they are. Aquarius and Leo just happen to embody these sentiments very differently!

The Leo Full Moon insists that we not wait for perfection to arrive. Shine anyway. Life is simply too short not to revel in joy. Aquarius understands the hardships of being human. The Leo full moon responds with an overflowing belly laugh of abundant joy. It’s time to share your gifts, your ideas and your realness with the world.

Quit overthinking it

You have one fucking life. Why not celebrate it?

The Sun holds its detriment in Aquarius, which essentially means that there is not a singular formula for how you’re “supposed” to shine in the world. Find your own path. What works for one person may not feel authentic for another. The very thing that sets you apart is the thing that makes you special.

From a mundane perspective, this Full Moon is particularly important. Ripening at 27°59’ Leo, the Full Moon squares/activates the lunar eclipse degree of 11/19/21 (27°40’ Taurus), presenting a fully illuminated crossroads of critical choice. If the proverbial fork in the road feels extremely pressing in your life, this degree is likely prominent in your own birth chart. The transiting nodal axis doubles down on the hot eclipse degree, conjuring catalytic developments on the world stage. It may feel like a mini-eclipse season in the week leading up to this full moon, where the energies intensify and life shakes up a bit. Big decisions, departures and shifts may occur.

Mars conjoins Venus 2/16, 16°53’ Capricorn

Mike Wilcox, Lovers

Yet another juicy transit blesses us today! The long-awaited union of Mars and Venus arrives in Capricorn – a sign where each planet is dignified, and ready to get steamy! I’ve noticed that the dance of Venus and Mars over these past couple years has reflected the general consensus’ ebb and flows of how “safe” it is to connect outside of our bubble. With umicrone on the downswing, this conjunction feels potent for hookups, love and sizzling romance.

Capricorn is a sign which deeply values quality. If this is a new hookup, chances are, you’ve been eyeing each other up for some time now. Venus has just stationed direct, offering a fresh perspective on what we desire in love and how to get out of our own way. Mars, typically the slower of the two planets, catches up to a contemplative, self-assured Venus and says, “we make sense together. Let’s do this!”

For relationships which have been steadily simmering, this dynamic presents steamy opportunities to connect. With the endurance of Saturn ruling this conjunction, we are offered patience, focus and the desire to invest in the long-term abundance of the relationship.

Overall, Mars-Venus conjunctions are steamy, sexy, flirtatious, and dynamically creative.

Looking ahead, Mars continues to pick up speed and peruses ahead. Meanwhile, Venus gradually regathers her pace and ultimately catches up to Mars *again* on 3/5 and 3/6. The two will hold hands from the final degree of Capricorn into the first degree of Aquarius, where Jupiter and Saturn recently started their own 20-year cycle last December. Indeed, 0° Aquarius is a hot degree right now! This conjunction seems to offer a potent time to breath new life into the relationship or the relationship pattern.

However, Venus then immediately finds herself in the crosshairs between Mars and Saturn. For the entire month of March. Is it possible we will see another variant buzzing around? Do we still have some significant problem-solving to address in the relationship department? Are we realizing that these new anti-social tendencies need some work? Time will tell. We still have a few weeks until we get there. And rest assured, April looks stunningly lovely once we get past the Mars/Saturn conjunction of 4/4.

Sun enters Pisces 2/18

Pisces season heralds a profound soulful longing, hope and the pure archetypal promise of renewal. In the northern hemisphere, Pisces season corresponds with lengthening of days, the thawing of ice and the joyful return of singing birds in the morning. The Earth is stirring awake, animating to desire to emerge from hibernation. We imagine what it will be like when we get our hands in the dirt again. We excitedly plan the garden, a few roadtrips and dust off the kayak. Pisces season is optimistic, dreamy and imaginative. As a fertile water sign, this period of longing and visualizing is a potent part of the actualization process. Pisces season celebrates the innocence of high hopes – beholding the promise of renewal with a full heart. Indeed, good things will soon fill our cup once more.
