Echoes in Rain: July 11th – July 17th

Hello lovelies!

The transits this week are a true echo of the New Moon in Cancer. Many of the aspects captured within the new moon are expanded upon this week. I’ve been meditating a lot on my past lately, and for the first time in a long time, I’m able to do so with an abundance of compassion. I envelope my young-adult self with so much love. As a survivor of trauma, of course I still have regrets. I too meditate on what I could have done differently to better handle the situation. I’ve learned that we do the best we can with the tools available to us at the time. To have had the wisdom prior, which we now possess would defeat the purpose of having the experience in the first place. Of course, tragedy and oppression are never warranted or deserved, but unfortunately, suffering seems to be part of the human condition. No matter who we are and the conditions we are born into, we all experience various forms of downgrades and depressions at some point or another. It’s these contrasting experiences which provide gratitude, illumination and supreme joy – highs that we might not otherwise access without a low comparison.

I’ve just begun reading “The Body Keeps the Score.” Only 15 pages in and I cannot wait to spend more time scanning these pages! This seems to be my Cancer Season theme. How is Cancer season taking you on a backward journey in time?

Mercury in Cancer: 7/11 - 7/27/21

Leaving their cerebral, fact-finding domicile of Gemini, Mercury enters Cancer, a psychic water sign deeply attuned to the environmental vibes. Mercury in Cancer is primarily a silent observer, first digesting how the information feels before articulating a response. While Mercury travels through emo Cancer, we may embody a more conscientious carefulness when delivering information. Is it helpful? Is it kind? Is it necessary? Mercury in Cancer aims to evoke their ideas in a supportive, nourishing way, acknowledging the feelings and needs of others. Deeply nostalgic, with a fantastic memory, Mercury in Cancer remembers. Mercury in Cancer can detect the information between the lines, but instead of going straight for the sensitive spot, Mercury in Cancer might say, “We can talk about it when you’re ready.” Mercury in Cancer is also fluent in the language of music and the intuitive art of cooking. While Mercury transits Cancer through 7/27, tell them you care by making dinner!

Sexy, Steamy, Ferocious: Venus conjunct Mars: 7/13/21

It’s been nearly two years since our last Venus-Mars conjunction, so you know we’re excited about this steamy concoction! Mars and Venus last conjoined on August 24th 2019 at 4°07’ Virgo, the sign of Venus’ depression. This celestial dry spell is due to each of their retrograde periods in 2020. It just so happens that in 2020, these cosmic lovers only made one single harmonious aspect, which says a lot about our quarantined social lives. However, we can officially celebrate now, as Venus and Mars finally reunite in fiery, dynamic and passionate Leo.

Incredibly sexy, playful, flirtatious and magnetic, this celestial combo sends chemistry through the roof! Passionate, affectionate, and primal, Venus and Mars are equally generous lovers in Leo. Bring your whole heart forward now, and don’t hold back. I wanna hear you roar! Both planets are peregrine, so neither dominates the other. While their exact conjunction is at 9:32 am ET, the best time to take advantage of this aspect is at nightfall.

Creative, animated and vivacious, Venus and Mars in Leo presents as a loud mashup. At this time, we are more likely to act upon our desires and the things we find beautiful. Cultivate your vibe! Look to see which house Leo rules in your chart to get a better sense of where you need to passionately pounce forward. A whole new cycle is beginning, so call it in! Name all that you desire.

Mars conjunct Venus in Leo invites us to get turned on by life.

Passions will be at an all-time high – which can be pleasurable or… maybe not so much. Beware of competition, drama and arguments. Leo is a fixed sign, which means there’s a willingness to die on a hill over the things we feel most passionate about. Remember, Mars is also maltreating Venus here.

As Venus and Mars are naturally polarized in nature, you’ll want to note which houses are ruled by Venus and Mars in your natal chart. This conjunction could have potent personal significations for those two house polarities. If Mars or Venus is your ruling planet or timelord, this is a time to hype yourself up. YOU ARE HAWT AF!

Even though this aspect is exact on 7/13, you won’t want to miss out on July 12th when the Moon joins in for a triple conjunction (exact 7-9 am ET).

Chiron stations retrograde: 7/15/21

The days on/around the Chrion station can echo themes from last week’s new moon about your story. Chiron represents the integral process of healing. It takes time. Chiron reminds us that some of our deepest core wounds never fully heal. It’s those core human wounds which continue to shape us, to teach us and to provide new antidotes of wisdom. Our Chiron wound can become a formative storyline to who we are as individuals. If you’ve been shying away from embracing your thorns, or from engaging in some sort of healing work, Chiron’s station might emphasize some of the swelling and nudge you to reach out for support. If you’re fully committed to your healing process, Chiron’s station may remind you how far you’ve come, or help you to unpeel another crucial layer. Chiron stations retrograde, turning backward and inward, represents the process of this process of revisiting these layers once more.

Sun trine Neptune: 7/15/21

Continuing the theme of opening from last week’s Cancer new moon, this watery trine between the Sun and Neptune in Pisces facilitates psychic activation and heart opening medicine. Deeply empathic, Cancer is a sign which understands the necessity enforcing of personal boundaries as a form of self-protection. Perhaps some of these mechanisms no longer serve us. Neptune offers the chance to open, finding compassion for ourselves and others. Sometimes we hide away from life for fear of repeating past hurts. Or perhaps it’s how we were conditioned from youth. This potent water trine can open us to more possibility for connection with others – or even with other realms of consciousness. This could be a wonderous time to connect with ancestors, angels or other supportive entities from beyond the veil.

Sun opposite Pluto: 7/17/21

The Sun in nurturing, protective and habitual Cancer faces off with Pluto, the lord of the underworld. We’ve heard the stories about Persephone’s abduction, or the harrowing reverb off Pluto transits which strip trademark elements from our lives. The Sun’s opposition to Pluto may recall chapters in which safety was taken from us – where care was promised, but missed the mark. The Sun’s opposition to Pluto can highlight power-struggles from the past, including abuse, trauma and neglect. Following in the wake of the Cancer new moon, this aspect can facilitate major emotional release, but also soul retrieval: the psychological and spiritual process of retracing your emotions to the root of what occurred. Soul retrieval involves radical compassion for both yourself and the potential (very human) blind spots belonging to the ones who let you down. This kind of retracing is not rooted in bypassing, but instead, it’s about trying to understand. It’s only when we can accept what happened that we can move on, and for many of us, arriving at some sort of understanding is an integral aspect of acceptance. The axiom is true: Hurt people hurt people.

Healing truly takes time and consistency. I recently read that most people with PTSD, also have something known as PTSG – post traumatic GROWTH. The Sun’s opposition to Pluto invites you to recognize how much you’ve GAINED since life threw you a giant curveball. Indeed, it’s valuable to acknowledge both what was lost, as well as what was achieved. For it’s not enough to simply survive, the Sun’s opposition to Pluto is here to reflect how much you are THRIVING in spite of it all.
