Enchanting + Complex: A rare Jupiter-Neptune conjunciton + Plutonian Full Moon: April 10-16, 2022

Galactic Greetings,

Thank you all for entrusting me as a source of celestial guidance. I’m taking my own advice this week and slowing things down to catch up with my family and my back-burnered tasks. If you’ve been following along with me, you know March was a very exciting month for me! The Libra Full Moon invites balance. I encourage you all to find it for yourselves too <3

We’ve got a significant week of forecasting ahead. Let’s get into it!

Astrology Watch:

Mercury enters Taurus, 4/10

Jupiter conjunct Neptune, 4/12

Mars enters Pisces, 4/14

Libra Full Moon, 4/16

Mercury enters Taurus, 4/10 – 4/29, 4/23 – 6/13

Slowing the roll significantly, Mercury steadies the mind in Taurus. With a calm, serene gaze, Mercury in Taurus helps us to become present, holding solid space for whatever arises. Resilient and loving, Mercury in Taurus is a thoughtful, engaging listener who gently provides sound advice. Mercury’s stock in the earth element provides the grounded observation we all need right now. Quality over quantity, make the space for what is already on your plate.

In true Taurean fashion, Mercury begins to slow down as they prepare to station retrograde at 4°51’ Gemini on 5/10/22 for an extended retrograde. Mercury returns to retrograde, stationing direct at 26°05’ Taurus.

That degree should sound eerily familiar.

Our previous eclipse season featured a lunar eclipse at the same degree – on top of a lunar eclipse on 5/16/22 standing opposite at 25°18’ Scorpio. Mercury stationing direct in Taurus will activate not just one, but two eclipses for a solid two weeks. Any planets or points between 24°-28° of the fixed signs enter the forge to be cast anew.

Another fascinating layer: the last time Mercury stationed direct, Mercury held a revealing conjunction with Pluto for two intense weeks; Mercury will now station in a *trine* to Pluto, holding that aspect for another two weeks. This could portend developments in the story which began at the end of January, 2022 in the late degrees of Capricorn.

The Jupiter-Neptune Conjunction, 23°58’ Pisces, 4/12/22

Alexander Ruperti considers Jupiter’s conjunction with Neptune to be one of the peak moments of Neptune’s transit through any given sign. As Neptune spends about 14 years in each sign, and Jupiter traverses the entire zodiac in 12 years, Jupiter will typically conjoin Neptune only once during its sojourn through each sign. These two planets share a lot in common. Together, they emanate a celestial vapor of heart-swelling sensitization, devotion to higher ideals, unity, and a boundless imagination.

Above all, this aspect represents opening and perhaps, the complete dissolution of certain boundaries. The culmination of this aspect has paralleled the lifting of restrictions and mandates. As I predicted last year, “this means bigger weddings, carefree dining, venues permitted to capacity – life is but a dream! Jupiter’s conjunction with Neptune in oceanic Pisces emotes those romantic and starry-eyed vibes. Looks like we’re about to fall in love with life again.”

But it’s not all roses. Recall that Pisces is a double-bodied sign. One fish swims up, while the other fish swims down.

While Neptune in Pisces has amplified spiritual practice in the collective since 2011 – popularizing yoga, crystals, astrology, tarot and beyond, it has also amplified fantasy, savior-complex and overall delusion. We’ve all drank the kool-aid in one form or another within the past 10 years. Pisces is a sign which amplifies the desire to connect to something bigger than ourselves, to find meaning, to connect with our infinite soul. But something else we can experience here is a profound grief: a significant empathy rivaling a discontent so grand that it paralyzes our ability to discern to a viable path forward… oh and, lots and lots of thoughts and prayers. Neptune in Aries will make us a whole lot less sensitive.

Astrological alignments can manifest in a variety of different ways. I still stand by the dreamy, blissful, heart-swelling projections I originally wrote about last year. However, when the buoyant balloon of possibility bursts, we are often left with disappointment, loss of faith, the harsh grain of disillusionment… Jupiter in Pisces will certainly help us to keep the faith alive, but I’m pegging the Jupiter-Neptune alignment as an emotional dam-break. Sometimes exhaustion simply derives from being strong for far too long.

Mars enters Pisces, 4/14

Leaving Saturn’s lair, Mars redistributes the cluster of malefic mayhem, bringing a bottle of fireball whisky to the Pisces pillow party. It was getting a little too slippery in there, and as Mars knows, a little friction goes a long way. Mars rouses us from the vivid astral projection and invites lived embodiment.

Mars holds triplicity in Pisces which means that our sword is held with a deeper respect for the sanctity of life. Counseled by the heart, yet unafraid to defend the precious, Mars in Pisces is the peaceful warrior. The last time we had Mars in Pisces, thousands of people forwent the safety of their own homes in the face of an unknown virus to resist institutionalized violence against people of color following the murder of George Floyd. Mars in Pisces will fight when it must, and for good reason.

If we are following a similar pattern from last year, I wonder if we will see another wave of peaceful protests – over war? Wages? Working conditions? Saturn still squares the nodes, so perhaps.

Mars in a mutable sign is also amazing for checking leftovers off your to-do list. Care for the nonessentials you keep putting off for later! Mars in Pisces loves smaller, artistic projects.

Libra Full Moon, 4/16, 26°45’ Libra, 2:54 pm ET

Full Moons offers the remedial counterpose to the zodiacal season. The Libra Full Moon embodies the primordial message of the Full Moon: balance. Independent Aries season celebrates individuality, impulse, the juice of vitality, and the inspirational spark of life. The Libra Full Moon reminds us that no one is an island. We need each other, and for this reason, compromise is a humanitarian pillar of progress, but also survival. The art of negotiation is a skill indeed. Libra offers refinement to brazenness, intellect to impulse and key awareness of the other.

The Full Moon in Libra forms a tight t-square with tumultuous Pluto. Make it beautiful, but first, tear it down to the studs. To achieve the level of harmony we crave within the grander purview of blazing our own path through life, we must face our own box of shadows. As if we didn’t get enough servings during Venus retrograde, many of us may be up for another round of excavations in our relationship sector. Pluto certainly complicates the Libran veneer – covering it up with a bouquet of greenery no longer suffices. The Libra Full Moon invites honesty. What must we confront in order to midwife the peace we envision for ourselves?

On the mundane front, this full Moon is quite the stunner:

  • The Full Moon activates the United States’ Pluto return – highlighting themes of finance, corporate greed, buying politicians and the morbid value of wealth over environment

  • Embodies the same lunar degree in the Aries Ingress, which rules finances and the American body of citizens

  • The Full Moon also activates Vice President Kamala Harris’ natal Full Moon in Libra within one degree. Yes, this means the Pluto return is squaring her luminaries. She is expected to play a key role, unclear from here.

  • Eclipse season begins!

Big Blessings,

Catherine
