Aquarius Full Moon

The Full Moon culminates on August 15th, 2019, at 8:29 am EDT, at 22°24’ Aquarius.

The Aquarius Full Moon always arrives during Leo season, a time when we are focused on shining in our own unique sparkly way. In contrast, though similarly, Aquarius rules the creative vision of the group— the shared ideology, or the hive mind. If Leo is self-love, then Aquarius is the impersonal love for the whole. While Leo wants to be seen, Aquarius recognizes that everyone has ideas to contribute, and that everyone’s voice matters.

Aquarius is a very democratic sign, if you ask me. Though not all Aquarian’s are necessarily progressive by political terms, this air sign is focused on progress, innovation of the current order and future goals. To quote astrologer, Jessica Lanyadoo from Ghost of a Podcast: “I talk about self-care a lot on this podcast, but I actually need to talk about caring for other people today [...] it’s been profoundly disturbing and devastating to learn about the ICE raids in Mississippi [...] in order to sustain acts of kindness and bravery in the face of injustice and cruelty, we must have a self to refer back to; we must have a foundation within ourselves of integrity and spiritual righteousness.”

Jessica truly nails it. We need the self-love of Leo to have something to give, and the world really needs us to show up right now. I listen to Ghost of a Podcast on the reg, and I can’t praise Jessica Lanyadoo enough. She is truly wise, loving and yet so down to earth. Go listen to her latest episode “Crushing ICE” for the rest of this profound Aquarius Full Moon message.

Jessica’s message comes in good timing, as the Sun tightly conjoins Venus - the goddess of love. We need to care about what’s going on in the world. Yes it’s exhausting and overwhelming, so maybe pick one or three causes to invest yourself in. Unfortunately, we don’t have all of the resources available to us (time, money, energy) to fully invest ourselves in every cause. Objective Aquarius knows how to responsibly detach. And yet, this is a sign that deeply cares about humanitarian issues.

On a lighter note, Aquarius is an air sign. So while it cares about social issues, it’s also a generally sociable sign. Aquarians are easy to get along with, they’re quirky and friendly. Whenever the Moon is in Aquarius, I find myself plugging in to more social gatherings, meeting up with friends and staying out late chatting it up over a glass of vino. Plug in! Aquarius’ glyph is the electrical airwaves. Where do you feel like you belong? Or where do your ideologies meet community?

As I’ve mentioned on my Youtube channel, both the previous Leo new moon and this Aquarius Full Moon occur on hot degrees known as the world axis. Since the new moon, we’ve witnessed mass shootings at the hands of white supremacists targeting POC, protests in Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Moscow, the alleged suicide of Epstein following the exposure of his high profile pedo-ring AND the largest ICE raids yet. These raids are cruel beyond belief and it’s all happening right here, right now. Let this full moon be a reminder of how we can use our gifts, and our passion to get involved.

Aquarius reminds us that you don’t have to do it all, but you do have a part to play.

Lots of Love,

Catherine
