The parting clouds - Week of March 14-20

Rainbow over Sonoma Raceway, October 28, 2015 by Jennifer Imbimbo

A new week floats in with a whisper, fresh off a sensitive Pisces New Moon. We should continue to be gentle with ourselves this week. Maybe you're wondering when all this weepy, watery, heart-swelling energy will come to pass - and the answer is soon! We can look forward to the Sun's invigorating ingress into Aries at the end of our week on 3/20. But before we get there, it's important to face the wistful melody of enigmatic, compassionate Pisces.

I'm reminded of a story from several years ago. I was recovering from an epically devastating let down which, in the end, took me years to bounce back from. Fresh into the healing process, I reunited with one of my soul sisters. This particular gal is a profoundly gifted healer. I have always admired this dear friend for her potent, intuitive gifts. She offers to lay her healing hands upon me, but she warns, "Catherine, my teacher told me that this healing is like holding a machine gun to the heart... you're probably going to have a huge emotional release in the next couple days." I accepted it. I no longer wanted to hold the heaviness. About a day later, I experienced a cathartic monsoon of tears. A heaving, hand-numbing wail over hiccupping breath and a wounded glass heart shattering upward, opening the throat.

It's the cracks that let the light back in.

Facing our feels is deeply healing, but it can be so difficult to access. Often, the cellular memory is held for so long that we normalize it. It becomes an ingrained portion of our lives. This is a potent week to engage in various forms of energy healing, which can facilitate the uprooting of such long-held emotions. Not for you? It's a squishy week regardless! This week is our final week of the mushy Pisces sequence, so def take advantage of this direct access line to the center of the heart. Love is the most powerful medicine in existence. Love will exalt us all.

ASTROLOGY WATCH:

Mercury enters Pisces (3/15)

Sun + Venus sextile Pluto (3/16+18)

Sun enters Aries (3/20)

Mercury enters Pisces

On 3/15 at 6:26 am ET, Mercury enters Pisces, concluding a long journey through the sign of Aquarius. And while it might be exciting for a change in scenery, I'm honestly sad to see Mercury go! Clear, concise and innovative, Mercury in Aquarius has been amazing for planning, creativity and problem solving. Put a bookmark in that page. Now, intellectual Mercury boards a romantic rowboat, where calculated, linear thinking is suspended. It’s time to view life through an abstract lens. Mercury prefers to have all the answers - and here, we just don’t!

However, Mercury in Pisces is brilliant for artistic, poetic or musical endeavors - where the current of the creatively intelligent universe runs effortlessly through us (if we are open…). The key to mastering Mercury in Pisces is allowing the flow. Random tangents and daydreams are welcome. Trust your rhythm. It doesn't have to be grammatically correct or "timely." And when you breech the horizon point of sensory overload, try not to feel overwhelmed. It’s not your job to solve the world’s problems alone.

One of my favorite manifestations of Mercury in Pisces is how the universe can speak to us in symbols. The signs are everywhere - the songs on the Spotify shuffle, the cloud in the sky, the synchronicities abound. Receive. Notice. Instead of reading a text book, watch a musical. You'll still get the information you need - in it's own weird magical way.

Mercury is the lord of divination - which works largely through imagery. Think of every act as divination. What if the mundane act of departing the house at a specific moment lands you in an opportune cross-stitch in time where you witness something which feels just for you. You feel a cosmic nudge to look up and the clock reads “11:11.” What’s that about? This is the magic of Mercury in Pisces, my loves.

Sun + Venus sextile Pluto

Combined with the mushy Pisces aspects this week, the Sun's opening sextile to Pluto is like a light opening at the end of the tunnel. Progress on our healing journey -or path to authentic embodiment - are palpable. It’s so encouraging to see doorways opened by authenticity.

Sun enters Aries

“Chogo” by Dorian Legret

We Rise. The Sun's Aries ingress is a truly victorious moment. For one, it's the vernal equinox, Ostara, primavera. At last, the days overtake the nights, and the warming, life-giving solar rays penetrate deeper into the earth, igniting her lifegiving fire to erupt forth. Wow, that vitamin D upgrade, amirite? We can already see the rose bushes begin to reveal supple green shoots and perhaps by now, we'll see the first of the daffodils and tulips. The Aries ingress represents a lot of things to astrologers, including a look into the political, economic and social forecast into the months ahead. However, for all of you reading this right now, it represents a renewal.

Like the spears of nature piercing through the frosty soil to initiate something great, Aries season renews a vigor, an excitement, a warmth, an eagerness to DO. While Pisces season may have invited rest and reflection, Aries season invites action. The Sun is exalted in Aries for maximum shine. Heat energizes. Heat mobilizes. Heat can even be a little uncomfortable, provoking and enflaming. Irritation can be a powerful motivator! After the year we’ve had, this dynamic shift is welcome. Now is the time to go forth!

Blessed Ostara, one and all!
