The Mars-Saturn Conunction + Venus' Party! Forecast for April 3rd - 9th, 2022

Galactic Greetings,

Mercury in Aries came in like a lion! We saw it play out at the Oscars on the day of its ingress. I’m not here to provide a full discourse on what happened, but what I will say is that Mercury is Will Smith’s chart ruler, so the switch into fiery Aries must have been felt. Maybe we are all feeling it on some level. Moving away from Aquarian objectivity, passions and emotions are ramping up as the planets tread into fiery Aries and watery Pisces. But now that Saturn squares the nodes this week, the new theme is consequences.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of joining a conversation about the current Astro weather on Kirah Tabbourn’s podcast, The Strology Show. We were joined by two other brilliant colleagues, Charm Torres and Rob Bailey to forecast about the astrology of the coming weeks. Tune in on all platforms to hear our Venusian Afternoons banter and insights!

Listen here!

We’ve got an important planetary conunction this week: Mars and Saturn. Let’s get into it!

Astrology Watch:

Mars conjunct Saturn, 4/4

Mars squares lunar nodes, 4/5

Venus enters Pisces, 4/5

Mercury sextiles Mars/Saturn, 4/7-8

Mars conjunct Saturn, 4/4 + Mars squares lunar nodes, 4/5

To the ancient astrologers, Mars and Saturn’s union was considered an important conjunction. As Mars and Saturn are the two malefic planets, their union defines a new two-year cycle around collective hardships and obstacles. On March 30th, 2020, Mars and Saturn conjoined at 0° Aquarius, defining a two-year period marked by social distancing, masking, and paranoia.

When I think about what the malefic planets represent in a modern sense, *work* is what immediately stands out in my mind. The last two years have completely reshuffled the deck in terms of how we conceptualize work. We saw essential workers toil for pennies, placing their own health at risk, while CEO’s drastically increased their fortunes.

While Mars and Saturn’s conjunction will begin a new cycle, it will once again reseed in Aquarius. I suspect we will see similar themes – adjusted covid protocols, but with an added emphasis on worker’s rights. Combining this cycle with the Saturn-Uranus square, the US Pluto return and eclipses, I foresee a rallying of unions, the pressure to tax billionaires and to increase wages. The Great Resignation persists, while workers defend their desire to continue working from home.

Saturn squares off with the lunar nodes occupying the Taurus-Scorpio axis. This polarity highlights themes of resources and wealth. At this time, the Kremlin is threatening to cut off certain European countries from Russian gas – something Europe was already planning to distance from over the next year. Saturn highlights the necessity to makes certain choices around the use of resources by the societal infrastructure. I cannot stop thinking about the recycling crisis here in the United States. Everytime I see the garbage truck take my recycling bin, my heart cries for the planet. We are deeply steeped in an ecological crisis, and I wonder if Saturn’s square to the nodes will highlight that – if not now, then during the upcoming eclipse seasons.

Venus enters Pisces, 4/5

At last! Venus enters the luxurious cloud palace of Pisces, imbibing us with a romantic concoction of wild abandon, amorous affections, and divine devotion. Venus in Pisces is an incredibly generous lover, friend and ally – desiring kindness and compassion for all. We will find it easier to align with the tendencies of a hopeless romantic, who loves for the sake of love, without expectation of return.

Venus in Pisces enchants our senses. Swirling with mystical delight, let the music reflect our minds and hearts. Dance, sing, freewrite… Venus in Pisces is the muse of the poet, the artist, the mystic. Love is everywhere and it’s for all of us. As Venus exits heady Aquarius, drop out of the mind and into the heart – transfiguring into a vessel of empathy, sweetness and creative inspiration.

It’s been a rough ride for Venus so far in 2022. Five long months in Saturn land? I think we all need a solid dose of debauchery. Let thy cup overfloweth!
