Dreamscape: Planetary Forecast for 1/9/22 - 1/15/22
Galactic Greetings All!
If you’ve been following me on socials, then you probably know that I’ve been recovering from covid. After all the precautions and sacrifices we’ve made to keep our child safe, it got us. But we’re on the other side now. Physically, I feel mostly recovered. I find that fatigue still grips me, and true to the gait of my retrograde timelord (Venus), I’m leaning into a restorative pace.
Fortunately for all of us, the transits of January are moderate, and deeply supportive of slowing things down. I think we’re all exhausted from the mental gymnastics, no matter where you stand. As Mercury and Venus will spend the back half of the month retrograde, the celestial wisdom affirms that there is no need to push forward right now. Pause, integrate and reconfigure your nest. In time, the world will recover – and it’s quite possible that in a weird way, we may come to miss the quiet presence we now behold. It is a time for stillness. For imagining. For listening.
And with that, let’s get into the forecast!
Astrology Watch
Sun sextile Neptune 1/10
Mars square Neptune 1/11
Mercury stations retrograde 1/14
Sun sextile Neptune (1/10) + Mars square Neptune (1/11):
Ever wonderous seeker, Mars in Sagittarius desires the delight of the distant cloud forest. Can we climb even higher? Reaching yet even more magical thresholds of illumination? The heart wants what the heart wants. Euphoria surely awaits us along the rainbow road. Now answering to high priestess Jupiter in Pisces, a peregrine Mars is unaware of limits. What else is possible for this one wild and precious life? Mars’ square to Neptune nudges us to add more glitter. Why settle? Truly, if this life has shown us anything, it’s that anything is possible.
Though imagining may be sufficient enough for right now. Maybe we don’t have the energy to do more this week. Maybe we don’t feel right about traveling just yet. Maybe Mars’ square to Neptune is making you sleepy. Maybe the only kind of dreaming you have the energy to do right now is on your pillow. All of this is ok. The Sun closes into a sextile with Neptune. This is an ideal time to reflect on all of the dreams you once held which have come true. And surely, some of those dreams fizzled or adapted a course of their own. Consider the dream as a shooting star, which leads us into the wild unknown. We aren’t always privy to where the road of life is leading us.
No matter which dimension you’re dreaming in this week, I hope that it fills your cup and bestows you with a sense of optimism and fullness.
Mercury Retrograde (1/14 - 2/3/22)
Mercury stations retrograde: 1/14 at 10°20’ Aquarius
Mercury cazimi: 1/23, 3°22’ Aquarius
Mercury stations direct: 2/3 at 24°22’ Capricorn*
It’s that time again! Back up your databases, double-check those emails for weird attachments and leave the house 5 minutes earlier!
Mercury stations retrograde in a square to Uranus, heightening anxiousness, but also brilliance, creativity and a bursting-at-the-seams desire to break out of sameness. Wild, activated and untamed- Mercury’s square to Uranus can bring us far out to the edge where intelligence borders the nonsensical. Remember that we are living in a unique time period when ingenuity is a catalyst for cultural evolution – when the path-most-followed no longer makes the most sense – when radical innovation seems like our best chance at survival.
In case you were wondering, your idea might not be too unhinged. And there may be no better time than now.
Mercury in Aquarius is brilliant. Break out the drawing board and let your creative genius flow. Bounce your ideas off others, collaborate and combine. When I think of Mercury in Aquarius, the fixed air sign, I think of a think-tank – or a jury deliberating. While Mercury is in Aquarius, a steadfast determination to solve the problem plants us before the equation until we feel certain our answer will suffice. Call on your soundboard for assistance, or literally draw it out on a dry-erase board.
Mercury stations retrograde in the terms of Venus, who is also retrograde! There is so much up for reimagination and reconfiguration right now. The mind brightens as new connections and pathways of possibility are carved. Look to where you have Capricorn and Aquarius in your chart to see where we are pulling the slingshot back in preparation to fly.
Mercury aligns with the heart of the Sun (cazimi) on 1/23, offering a distinctive clarity, confidence and knowingness about the plan – while still remaining open to additional tweaking.
By the beginning of February, both Mercury and Venus will have completed their retrograde journey and reclaimed their visibility as morning stars. Interestingly, Mercury stations direct near the same place in the zodiac where Venus stationed retrograde – late Capricorn, in company with Pluto – thematically imbibing both retrogrades with a complex cocktail of deep investigation, a beckoning curiosity toward empowerment, and a compelling fixation upon solving a particular equation in our lives. Not tomorrow. Today. By early February, ideally we’ll have procured a viable solution to accompany us on the journey forward.
